A different point of view

You'll be surprised at the types of people in supercars.

A friendship forged on the tarmac

Nearly ten years old, Supercar Driver began its life as a driving club for high-end owners. Now, as we move into 2019, what started as a relatively compact group of like-minded individuals has evolved into the UK’s leading members club for supercar owners, offering the complete ownership experience. Because whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned pro, you’ll know that getting together to trade stories and tips or just see the latest machines out on the road is an unexpected bonus of owning fast cars.

XL Luxe, our supercar and hypercar division, has partnered up with Supercar Driver to offer our clients the benefits of membership to an enthusiastic community with over 700 members nationwide and a wide variety of events to cater for different tastes, exclusive offers and a high quality quarterly magazine. Periodical mailouts and magazine teasers often trail ultra exclusive secret meets where the presence of exceptional and noteworthy cars is a given.

The stuff of life

Despite the wildly expensive toys in the supercar landscape, owners are a surprisingly down to earth bunch with whom spending time is easy.

And with the whole of the the British Isles and Europe as your playground, the opportunities to get out there and let rip with your new pals are manifold.

With XL Luxe and SCD its automatic

So how does it work? It’s simple, XL Luxe clients are automatically entitled to receive membership to Supercar Driver for 2 years.

Beyond that it’s completely up to you how you choose to use your membership. Whether you’re just content to open your magazine once a month to see what’s going on out there or take part in some of the SCD fundraising events, there’s no pressure.

Bear in mind that, for manufacturers, SCD represents one of the best channels to the right kind of people. Accordingly, the level of access granted to members is jaw-dropping. In the past, the club has enjoyed factory visits to McLaren, Rolls Royce, Bentley Aston Martin and Koenigsegg as well as breakfast meets and exclusive test drives with lead dealerships.

Our relationship with SCD has helped cement XL and its proposition of hassle-free motoring at the forefront of the supercar audience's mind. More importantly, its enabled many of our clients the opportunity to get our there and really enjoy their cars.

The world under your right foot

SCD members are an adventurous lot. Since the partnership started, SCD and XL drivers have enjoyed trips as far afield as the Cote d’Azur, The Alps, The Scottish Highlands and the United Arab Emirates. Sometimes the centrepiece of the trip has been a race meeting such as Le Mans. However, more often than not, it’s about being on the road and enjoying the feeling of getting busy through the corners with a gang who feel the same way.

And if you’re a bit less concerned with sampling the delights that the desert has to offer, there’s always something a little closer to home. Just throughout October 2018 there were meets in the Breacon Beacons, Peak District, The South Downs and the all-important fish and chip run to Whitby. Because, let’s be frank, just because your motor drinks the finest fuel known to man, that’s no reason to deprive yourself of a pint and a bag of Britain’s finest after a morning spent blasting through God’s Own Country.

So there you have it… the perfect accompaniment to your XL supercar. A ready-made mob of petrol-headed glee fiends ready to get amongst it automotively-speaking.

What’s not to like? Now, anyone for Dungeness crab?

How we're responding to COVID-19.

At XL we've introduced several measures to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. Our head office is open for drop-offs and collections and all our vehicles are fully valeted and sterilised. Collections and drop-off staff all have full PPE including face masks, sanitising spray and hand cleaning fluid.

Our procedures for customers collecting vehicles:
  • New vehicles will be cleaned, sanitised and disinfected by our staff member, who will then place the keys on the windscreen and then go 2 metres away whilst the client goes to the vehicle to inspect it. Once our customer has checked and is happy with the vehicle a copy of the inspection report is emailed straight to them.
  • The handover is complete, and no contact is made between the customer and staff member. Spare gloves and sanitising wipes are available for our customers to use should they be required.
Our procedures for customers returning vehicles:
  • When a customer arrives with the vehicle our staff member will direct you to park the vehicle in a dedicated parking area and ask you to leave the vehicle, locking it and placing the keys on the windscreen. Once our customer has done this and is the required 2 metres away our staff member will approach the vehicle to disperse the sanitising/disinfecting fluid on the keys unlock and enter the vehicle sanitising the dashboard, steering wheel, handbrake, door and window controls, seat adjustment controls. Our staff member will then perform the initial visual checks inside the vehicle, such as mileage, servicing and fuel levels. A full external check of the vehicle is performed, along with tyres, under to bonnet and boot. Any new damage is noted. Once the inspection is complete a copy of the inspection will be emailed straight to the client.

Keep on keeping on... and stay safe!
